Amir Alvarado claims Costa Rican LBS Interperformances weekly honour

Experienced Panamanian Amir Alvarado (198-SF-84) had a great game in the last round for Heredia and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 36-year old had a double-double of 24 points and twelve rebounds, while his team lost the game against the league's best team Escazu (#2, 3-0) 67-107. Heredia moved-up to the 5th position in Costa Rican LBS. Heredia is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 2nd lost game this season out of 3 games. In the team's last game Alvarado had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Heredia's top player in his first season with the team. Marshalltown Community College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Alvarado is league's best scorer averaging so far 24.3ppg and leads league in rebounds with 15.0rpg. Alvarado is in league's top in and averages solid 63.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 17-year old guard Jaime Alfaro (185-G-03) of Asobasca. Alfaro impressed basketball fans with 27 points. Bad luck as Asobasca was edged by the higher-ranked Alajuela (#3, 2-2) 76-72. This loss caused Asobasca to slide to the very bottom (7) position in the standings. 3 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Alfaro is well-known by Asobasca fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.7ppg (#6).

The third best performed player last round was former international guard Daniel Shedden (190-G-96) of second-ranked Escazu. Shedden scored 22 points and passed four assists. He was a key player of Escazu, leading his team to a 107-67 easy win against the lower-ranked Heredia (#5, 1-2). Escazu started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Shedden turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Shedden has a great season in Costa Rica. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (3rd best), rebounds with 2.3rpg (5th best) and assists with 4.3apg (3rd best).
